JoAnn Beck is the Senior Landscape Architect with the City of Rochester Department of Environmental Services, responsible for managing the design and implementation of the Durand Beach project, Genesee Riverway Trail Projects, the El Camino: Butterhole to Seneca Park Trail Project and others. She is a licensed landscape architect, with an MLA from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse, and more than twenty-five years of professional experience.

Don has planned, designed, and implemented hundreds of projects in his 40 plus year career. In 1970 Don was the Founder and President of the Environmental Design Associates (EDA) in Stamford Connecticut. In 1992 Don became an ASLA Fellow Don has been a career member of the ASLA where he was NYU Chapter Officer and co-chaired the annual upstate meeting in Syracuse, NY.

4th Annual Designing with Native Plants Symposium
The 2012 conference will explore the theme of Regional Identity in Upstate New York. Regional identity is reflected in, and shaped by, plans, designs and projects using native plants or inspired by native plant communities. The Symposium is for landscape architects, designers, educators, Master Gardeners, government employees, homeowners and anyone else eager to learn more about this growing movement.
