No Excuses: Green Infrastructure Design Workshop

Landscape Architects and Members of ASLA know they are the  profession that should be leading the change that is called Green
Infrastructure.

Their  training, knowledge and commitment to the environment  make them the natural  choice to lead this revolution.  The NY Upstate  Chapter has heard from
many Members that while they believe in green  infrastructure and the role
Landscape Architecture should play in its  implementation, they have not had
many opportunities to practice this aspect  of the profession, and do not feel
adequately prepared to lead their  communities toward green infrastructure
solutions.

To equip as many Landscape Architects with the knowledge  needed to become
effective community leaders, the NY Upstate Chapter is  presenting an in-depth
2-day Conference, with the intent at conclusion that  those in attendance will
have "No Excuse" when approaching green  infrastructure.

To bring this level of information to as many people as  possible, we are looking
to our Sponsors and Vendors to help the NY Upstate  Chapter make this Conference
accessible and affordable for our Members.

We have planned an interesting, informative event with a focus  on practical
implementation tools and skills for attendees including  extensive opportunities
for attendees to visit with Vendors and opportunities  for Sponsors to have
information included in the green infrastructure  "tool kit".

Cost for two day Conference:
 $90  for ASLA Members
 $150  for Non-Members

Continuing Education:
11  CEU Credits provided by NYU ASLA, to receive the  CEU credits
attendees must attend all sessions on both days - No partial  credits will be
issued.  There is an additional cost to  registration:
$35  for ASLA Members
$70  for Non ASLA Members.

An additional CEU will be provided at Friday Lunch by  BOTANICUS Interior
Landscaping.

NYS license number  must be provided with  registration.  There will be an additional
processing charge of $25   if license and payment are not received by June 6,  2013 at 5:00 pm.

ASLA-NY's annual LARE Review Workshops

Date: June 01 - 02, 2013
Location: New York City
Registration Info: http://www.nyasla.org/event/LARE

Landscape architects who have recently passed the test teach this two-day prep course. They will review material and practice problems, including the new test format, and share with you the latest in study techniques, test-taking tips, and an understanding of the general content of each section.

The ASLA-NY LARE Review has gained a reputation for being a great way to jump-start your studying, focus your efforts efficiently and get you ready to pass those tests!

The weekend review session will be held on June 1-2, 2013, at the Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture at The City College of New York. All ASLA-NY LARE Review instructors offer recent, first-hand experience with taking and passing the relevant LARE sections. On Saturday, the review begins with an overview of the new test format and gaining licensure in New York and neighboring states. The remaining Saturday sessions focus on how to prepare for Sections 1 (Project and Construction Administration) and Section 2 (Inventory and Analysis).  The Sunday session covers Section 3 (Design) and Section 4 (Grading, Drainage and Construction Documentation).

Participants may register for the entire course (both Saturday and Sunday) or for either day.

Both days start off with a hearty continental breakfast (New York worthy bagels, fixings and more) included in the registration fee. Lunch is on your own.

This ASLA-NY Review course is preparation for upcoming LARE exams administered August 19-30, 2013, December 2-14, 2013, and March 31 - April 12, 2014.
